Nestled near the Palms Casino Resort, Books and Buns in Las Vegas is a private, converted creative space filled with thousands of new books—mostly by Black authors across all genres. Experience original art, enjoy soft seating, create in open art spaces, explore a fantastic LEGO room, play at game tables, and unwind to soothing sounds while enjoying delicious bites. Special programs include STEAM Learning experiences for ages 3 to 6 yrs coming this fall. Join First Friday Night Cap, Third Thursday Open Mics, Cosplay Game Night, Cinema Circles and more.  
Curator, Rain Angeni - Your Resident Host
Hi! I’m Dr. LaTatia Stroud, known by my Choctaw name, Rain Angeni—writer (The Green Green Book), surrealist mixed media artist, and curator of this eclectic hub. I’m passionate about crafting beautiful spaces where art, books, and culture connect—and that’s exactly what Books and Buns is all about.

I’m currently experimenting with new mixed media techniques for my first solo exhibition, and you can experience my live art. Join me for free intimate gatherings like cosplay game nights, craft & sips, mic-drops, and cinema circles. Come vibe with the Books and Buns tribe.

Early-Learning STEAM Program
​for Ages 3 to 6 years

Mission
Our STEAM program is designed to inspire and empower Black children through hands-on learning, mentorship, and culturally relevant curriculum, addressing the opportunity gap in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.

Equity
We focus on increasing access to high-quality STEAM education for Black children, an underserved and underrepresented group in STEM fields, by providing culturally responsive instruction, mentorship, and real-world project experiences.   Instructed by state-licensed teachers and degreed professionals in STEAM, this is a unique opportunity for young minds in the Las Vegas community.

Cultural Integration
This program serves Black children ages [x–y], providing a safe and affirming space to explore STEAM disciplines, develop critical skills, and connect with mentors who share their cultural background and experiences.  Our extensive Black-culture library provides access to hundreds of books across all genres.

Community Outreach
Centered on the experiences of Black youth, this program provides hands-on STEAM learning, mentorship, and opportunities to connect with professionals who reflect and celebrate their identities.
